Fast Diets That Will Lose Those Extra Pounds

Losing weight is so hard to do and there are so many diets it is hard to find the right one. Whether you have 10 pounds or 30 pounds to lose you have to find a diet that is effective for you. Before you start any diet you should research your options and consult with your physician especially if you have any type of health conditions.
One fast diet that may help you lose those extra pounds is the Scarsdale Medical Diet. This diet has been around sine the 1970’s and many people swear by the results they have achieved. The Scarsdale Medical Diet is a weight loss diet that is low in fat and calories.
The diet is very structured and provides a meal plan that must be strictly followed for the first 14 days. After this time period you follow a similar meal plan where you can add additional foods and is less structured. People who have used this diet claim to have lost as much as 20 pounds during the first 14 days.
Another fast diet that is becoming increasingly popular is the Hollywood Diet. This is a fast diet designed to help you lose weight within 24 to 48 hours. The diet has been proven to help lose those extra pounds but is not really geared towards long range weight loss.
While on the Hollywood Diet you only drink juice and are not allowed to eat any food. The different juices, minerals, and enzymes in the concoction act in much the same way as a laxative. This fast diet works well to detoxify your body from the toxins and waste built up inside of it. The Hollywood Diet may work well for those who want to fit in that dress or pants for a special occasion.
The Grapefruit Diet is another fast diet that has been around for ages. It came into existence around the 1930’s and gained early popularity through word of mouth. This fast diet promises rapid weight loss results and is really designed for short term use.
While on the Grapefruit Diet, dieters stick to a moderate protein diet that is low in carbohydrates. The premise of this fast diet is that the ingredients in the grapefruit help to trigger the burning of fat when eaten with protein and thus resulting in weight loss. It is thought that adding grapefruit helps to lower insulin levels in the body which promotes weight loss.
The Cabbage Soup Diet is a fast diet that promises to help you lose 10 pounds in one week. While on this diet you eat all the cabbage soup you want as well as some fruits, vegetables, milk, and meat. The Cabbage Soup Diet, again, as with most other fast diets is not designed to help you achieve long term weight loss goals. This diet is a very low in calories and dieters eat the same food for the duration of the diet.
One important factor to consider about fast diets that will help you lose those extra pounds is they are generally all designed for rapid weight loss and short term use. Most of the weight that is lost is from fluid loss and some fat. While losing those extra pounds with a fast diet may be a short term alternative you should always be prepared to supplement these diets with a long term diet that consists of healthy eating and exercise.
