Does the New Cabbage Soup Diet Work
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on February 09th, 2010
The regular cabbage soup diet is believed to facilitate fat loss, as much as 10 pounds in one 1 week. So, does the new cabbage soup diet work? Well, it can work for some people and it may not do so for others. In other words, it is not for everyone. Besides, its effectiveness will depend on person’s metabolism and the essential sustenance for people with medical conditions.
The question “does the new cabbage soup diet work?” has been asked over and over again for more than thirty years now. Yes, it has been around that long already, in fact, people all over the world have been depending on this cabbage soup diet to get rid of their excess weight.
Does the new cabbage soup diet work? It is known to help with weight reduction, in addition to relieving stress, maintains elasticity of the skin, improving the body’s immune system. And because cabbage is more difficult for the stomach to digest compared to other foodstuffs, the cabbage lodges in the digestive tract for an extended time making you feel filled for longer time. In turn, your body has to use the fat reserves in order to continuously have the energy to break down the cabbage. More or less this process automatically turns your body into a fat burning machine just by consuming the soup.
On the other hand, before you try and start with any diet method, you must ask your doctor’s advice first. This cabbage soup diet is generally not recommended for people under 18 years of age, and this diet routine is not advisable for use beyond one week. Though, you can take a break for a few months and then try the diet again. This allows time for your body to recover from the rigorousness of diets as well give the tummy the chance at processing foods which are easier to digest.
So, does the new cabbage soup diet work? This diet method asserts that you can eliminate 10 pounds in one week. Even if this is true, many nutrition professionals have revealed that the weight loss is probably brought about by loss of water instead of fat. And one more thing, this diet only provides temporary results; this means you can regain back the extra weight that you eliminated. However, if this will be coupled with other diet regimen, the whole thing will be more efficient and can last.
Does the new cabbage soup diet work where other natural diet plans failed? Absolutely, as this diet method boasts of 30 years of experience, though it is recognized in a few different names. Actually the soup mainly works as a filler to make you feel full. You can eat all the soup that you want and you’ll never feel hungry so you eat less.
Does the new cabbage soup diet work? Certainly, it does, provided that you combine this diet with a long-term good diet and workout plan. You need the workout since the cabbage soup diet will not be that effective if use alone.
To personally learn about the answer to the query “does the new cabbage soup diet work?” You can look for more information online. You can definitely find the answer and see for yourself if this diet is indeed effective.
The New Lifestyle Diet Versus Medifast - My Comparison
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on February 07th, 2010
I have to admit that I’ve been receiving questions about this diet plan for a while and waited until now to write an article about it. The reason for this is partially because I don’t have any personal experience with the New Lifestyle diet. My experience lies with Medifast. However, after doing some research on the newer diet for a while, I’m going to offer some basic comparisons between the two diets in the following article.
The Basic Outline Of Both Diets And The Foods Offered Are Somewhat Similar: Actually when I first looked at the foods for New Lifestyle, I was wondering if I was on the wrong website. The foods are very similar to those offered on Medifast. What I mean by this is that the shakes, protein bars, soups, stews, cereals, chips, and hot chocolates are all there. The two overlap very much in this regard.
Also, the idea of both diets is meal replacement. You’re basically asked to eat the food that the diet company provides rather than your regular meals. Both of these plans have you eating 5 (Medifast) to 7 (New Lifestyle) meals per day and then one healthy meal that you make yourself which is mostly based on lean protein and low glycemic vegetables.
So your experience on both of these diets might be similar in terms of eating small meals often (most of which you don’t make yourself) and then eating a main meal once per day. In general, the foods should be high in proteins and low in sugars and carbs so that your body can get into ketosis where it’s not burning carbs but is burning your own body fat. This is what supposedly makes both of these diets work.
Costs Comparison: Both of these diet plans offer packages as well as individual items for sale. In my experience, most dieters will opt for the package as this makes the cost per unit quite a bit cheaper. I’ve been noticing this perception that New Lifestyle is cheaper, but I don’t find that to be the case in real life. Yes, if you compare both basic women’s programs, New Lifestyle runs $273.00 and Medifast runs $299. But, this does not tell the whole story. Because, at least from my own experience, Medifast almost always offers very generous coupons which take your price on a package down by at least $50 in many cases. This alone makes a huge difference and they will often offer free food.
The Questionable Ingredients In The New Lifestyle Diet Foods: You may have already gathered that my experience lies with only one of these diets, which I’m pretty happy with. This fact alone might make me biased. I have had people ask me if I would consider switching based on costs. But, as I’ve said, I actually don’t believe that Medifast is more expensive when you use coupons.
However, the real kicker for me is some of the ingredients in the other diet (which include corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils, and aspartame.) Now, by no means am I an expert, but even I know that these are foods that are considered unhealthy and not diet friendly. Not only that, but the corn syrup especially is not conducive to getting into ketosis.
In my opinion, it just doesn’t make sense to change over to a diet that includes these questionable ingredients. I have read on some of the forums that the taste of the New Lifestyle foods is not as good as Medifast, but I don’t have personal experience with that. I can say that I’m happy with what I’m doing and with my results. Since it’s not broken, I just can’t see fixing it with a plan that includes ingredients that I don’t endorse in their foods. I would never consume these things in my “lean and green meal.” so why would I eat them in my diet foods?
A Natural Healthier Diet Plan - Hunza Diet
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on November 11th, 2009
Dieting is a crucial part in having a healthy lifestyle. But because there are different types of diets available, it has become a bit frustrating to know which one would be perfect depending on your lifestyle, preferences and goals. Looking for a simple diet plan? Why not consider the Hunza diet.
The Hunza diet originates from the Hunza River Valley that is part of the Himalayas. The Hunzacuts, the people who have been living off this diet plan for centuries, are famous for their ability to extend their life expectancies to up to a hundred forty. The Hunza diet is heavily based on the use of fresh unprocessed foods such as vegetables and fruits. It’s a great natural alternative way of life for those who want to have long lives.
Since there is a heavy emphasis on eating raw foods, meat is seldom part of this unique dieting plan. This is why it can be considered as an economical diet as well. The diet mainly consists of vegetables and whole grains that can be eaten raw. Beans are also an important part of the diet as the only source for protein there is without meat. Fruits account for most of the vitamins while seed and nuts contributes the essential oils of the diet.
With such a healthy fare in store for anyone willing to try it, an interesting fact about the Hunza diet is that there is not one obese Hunzacuts to ever be in existence. Try out the Hunza dieting plan yourself.
How Hard is Medifast to Stick to (Or With)?
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on October 08th, 2009
The other day, I received an email from someone who wrote: “Tell me the truth. How hard is it to stick with Medifast Because I’ve been on many diets, but I always give up for one reason or another and I am wondering why Medifast would be any different.” I’ll share some of my response with you in the following article.
Staying On Medifast Without Cheating: How Hard Is It, Really : First off, I’m not going to kid you. This is a diet. So you can’t go into it thinking that the food is always going to be exactly what you want when you want it. You’re taking in less calories and less carbs so it won’t be like eating restaurant meals until you’re 100% full. But, you knew that, didn’t you Because if you don’t change what and how you eat, you’re going to get what you’re always gotten - failing to lose weight and make it stick.
With that said, on the plus side, the food is not too bad. The shakes are actually very good as are the bars and oatmeal. Plus, you’re eating every two hours or so (six times per day total.) You’re asked to eat five of the prepackaged, small “Medifast meals,” and then you’re rewarded with a large regular meal. Eating as often as you do helps some and having the larger reward at the end of the day gives you something to look forward to.
Still, the first few days are the hardest. But, after that, you’re over the initial hesitation and adjustment period and you begin to just sort of get used to it. I will say that this diet is very convenient. There’s not a whole lot to do. The food is prepackaged and all of the figuring and tallying is done for you. Basically, you just eat the food that they send you, follow the directions for the “lean and green” meal, and you’re set.
And, once you get past the first week or so, you will typically begin to see results. The more results you see, the easier this becomes since you see that it is definitely worth it. Over time, you just get used to this new lifestyle and you no longer think about it so much anymore.
There are also some things that you can do to set yourself up for success rather than failure. Research and compile some good recipes for your “lean and green” meal. Do any prep work that you need to beforehand so that you aren’t struggling to compile a meal when you are hungry. Experiment with making the food taste in a way that is desirable for you. For example, I add fat and sugar free syrups to the shakes and fat free cheese, salsa, and sour cream to the eggs, soups, and chilis. The pudding can be used to make cookies, muffins and other baked goods.
In short, you’ll have to experiment until you come up with the best way to make Medifast best work for you. Some people would rather just go with the food as it is because preparing any food makes them think about it too much. I go the opposite way, as I really feel that I need to learn how to prepare healthful foods and enjoy it because I won’t be on this diet forever. And, I like having some variety and control, but every one is different.
At the end of the day, the company has taken a lot of work out the process. You really don’t need to shop, research, or cook much. What you do have to do is just to eat the foods that they send you and follow the instructions for the lean and green. For me, this is really not too much to ask. One day it dawned on me that no one else could make this decision or do this work for me. It was really up to me to put the love for myself about the love for foods that were making me unhealthy and not the best version of myself anyway.
Fatloss4Idiots Reviews - My Critique on Their Diet
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on September 03rd, 2009
The Fatloss4idiots diet is one of the most successful diets in the market today. There is no doubt that this system has been used successfully by thousands of people around the world. It is also clear from numerous comments and reactions that people do lose weight with this regime, from as little as 15 pounds to more than 75 pounds or more.
But I think this system is great, there are some things that I do not like Fatloss4idiots. I wanted to share these things with you.
Here are the things I dislike about Fatloss4idiots:
1. Name - Fatloss4idiots is a strange name, but I do not think it is funny when I first saw its title. It was like as though the rest of the world had no inclinations on how to lose weight at all. Later, when I realized that the name means that this system is so easy that even an idiot can do, my distaste for the name disappeared. However, I still think they should have chosen a different name.
2. Losing 9 pounds in 11 days is what Fat loss 4 Idiots promises if you undergo their program. I do not like this promise because every person is different and loses weight at different rates. Some people do lose 9 pounds in 11 days but some others do not. But most people lose an average of 6 pounds during the course of 11 days. That is still a high rate of weight loss, so I think Fatloss4idiots would have done better without the promise of guaranteeing that you will lose 9 pounds in 11 days.
3. Lack of support - The biggest drawback of Fatloss4idiots is that you do not have a support group for this system. The reason is that it is so easy to use and really does not need any kind of support, but sometimes it is good that member’s insights and comments can be shared so as to provide better motivation and know that you are not alone in your journey.
Medifast Reviews - The Pros & Cons
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on August 30th, 2009
If you have searched around the net you will find the Medifast reviews are few and far between. The positive side of the Medifast reviews all agreed that the diet does actually produce great results.
The weight loss can be very fast and achieved with relatively little effort.
The diet doesn’t cause any problems with the body as it still is very nutritious. Unlike may other diets on the market this one is suitable for people who have diabetes of suffer from IBS.
The variety available with the different tasting shakes and the variety in the substitutes makes sure you never get bored from eating the same thing over and over again.
The cost of the diet is made easier when you start seeing the weight just fall off your body. It really is worth it.
The limited amount of groceries makes the shopping trip a pleasure. This makes it harder to get away with slipping a little treat into the trolley.
The Medifast reviews problem list that most people have with the diet was that it requires discipline. It is easy to regain pounds if you don’t stick to the diet as advised. People know that if they don’t stick to the diet and follow the recommendations then they will lose a whole lot of money. Some people required vitamins as they were struggling with the lack of calories. The lack of energy caused a few people to give up but these pass after the first week. The diet requires continual eating of small doses and this can be tedious or difficult for those with busy lifestyles.
If you can stick through the first week of the diet then you will be sure to benefit from the rewards. Just stick to it.
This mash of Medifast reviews are from real people who have used the diet in the past, many successfully. Give it a bit of thought and see if this diet will help you change you life around.

Strip That Fat Diet System - Will This Lead to Permanent Weight-Loss?
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on July 30th, 2009
How can you tell a genuine Diet product from a hyped-up one that is big on promises but lacking in substance? Will the Diet system you are considering give you the means to lose the weight that you are so determined to get rid of?
I am going to give you 3 points that will enable you to spot a genuine Diet system from an impractical hyped-up one.
1. Excess weight is an emotive subject and we all want to get rid of it as fast as possible - but realism should also come into the equation! Rapid weight-loss can be achieved using certain diets - no doubt about that, but surely, what should be more to the point is this: will a rapid loss of weight remain ‘off’ - or will it return to haunt you within weeks or even days of losing it as it goes back ‘on!?’
Weight loss should always be approached as a permanent goal and not a temporary one. OK, there may be exceptional circumstances - for example, 2 weeks before you get married! - or even for serious health reasons, but apart from ‘crisis’ situations such as these, permanent weight-loss must be regarded as the long-term remedy to your problem.
A good Diet system should have everything in place for you to succeed with long-term and permanent weight loss. There should be no hype, and nothing should be promised that cannot be fulfilled.
2. We all love our food, and of course this is half the problem in the first place! But bearing that in mind, does the Diet system you are considering provide for a ‘balanced’ approach to dieting? You could choose to live on porridge and vegetables indefinitely, and of course you would lose weight rapidly on that diet - but who wants to go down that route?
Better to have a diet that does not make you feel as if you are on a diet. A diet that lets you have a certain amount of ‘what you like’ to make life worth living! - but at the same time allow you to make the necessary adjustments that must take place in order to achieve the object of the exercise - the permanent reduction of excess weight.
A good Diet system should fulfill its purpose by setting an eating programme that is enjoyable, sustainable and varied for the dieter, and yet achieves the required weight-loss at the same time.
3. The Diet system you are looking at should offer a full money-back guarantee if you are dissatisfied, as well as a manned help-desk to answer any queries you may have about the system. Does what you are considering offer a 30 day or a 60 day refund period? A longer 60 day refund would indicate a strong belief in the product by the manufacturer.
I hope this information has been of benefit to you.
Strip That Fat Review - What Can it Do For You?
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on July 25th, 2009
Strip That Fat is a weight loss plan which is increasing in popularity at a remarkable pace. More and more people are trying out Strip That Fat to help them achieve a fast and sustainable weight loss.
But what can this program really teach you? What can it do for you?
The main emphasis which StripThatFat places is how to avoid short term weight loss by following what is known as Burst diets: diets which only help you to lose weight in the short run but can’t provide steady results in the long run. This happens because many diets deprive you of necessary nutrients (carbs, fat, protein) and so disrupt the metabolic process and the regular functions of your body.
StripThatFat isn’t about depriving your body of food groups as a whole. Rather, it is based on choosing the right food items, eating them at the right time, and avoiding bad foods in order to accelerate fat loss. Because it does so without depriving you of too much food or nutrients, you can enjoy a long and sustainable weight loss process.
Strip That Fat can teach you the following things:
- How to make yourself feel fuller faster
- How to reduce inches
- How to increase the rate of your weight loss
- How to eat fat and still lose weight
- How to train your body to burn off more calories faster
- Why some diets fail
- And more
Apart from the main benefit which this diet provides which is helping you to look better by shedding some excess pounds, you can also improve your health, increase confidence, enjoy the admiration of the opposite sex, and have more fun just by becoming a slimmer more attractive person.
