A raw food diet is a strict vegan diet, therefore no animal products are consumed. The most important aspect of the raw food diet is no foods should be consumed that have been cooked or heated to over 118 Degrees Fahrenheit. It is believed heating foods above this temperature destroys valuable nutrition and enzymes.
The raw vegan diet is becoming increasingly more popular, as followers are reporting enormous benefits. not only is weight loss very evident for most overweight people when they make the switch, but other diseases and ailments improve and in some cases disappear completely. Some of the common ailments that can be cured buy following a uncooked food diet include arthritis, diabetes and heart conditions.
On a raw diet the principal foods that are permitted are uncooked fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, seeds and nuts. Many people make the diet more interesting by preparing raw versions of cooked foods, such as dehydrated seed crackers, raw sprouted breads, and even raw pizza. many raw recipes can be found by doing a search online.
While eating uncooked foods may sound extreme, the many benefits reported are surely worth any perceived sacrifice. Within just a few days you will notice an increase in energy, and your clothes will become looser if you are overweight.
Beginning slowly, and enjoying a “raw food transition phase” is probably the best way to start a raw food diet. Start adding copious amounts of fresh fruit and vegetables to your diet and gradually phasing out the cook foods.
