NutriSystem Diet - Using NutriSystem Coupon Codes

Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on August 16th, 2010

NutriSystem, one of the lowest priced weight loss programs available, can cost even less if you make use of their popular coupon price reduction offers. If you want to know where to find Nutrisystem coupon codes, a simple search online will turn up a plethora of them.

Typically, you can find offers where if you buy a 28-day package you are entitled to one more week’s free food. Or by typing in a specific code you can receive anywhere from a $30 to $50 discount on orders. I also turned up codes that can be used to give you free vitamins sent along with your food and even an extra week of free ice cream! Aside from coupons offered by specific online stores, the actual NutriSystem site itself has special promotional offers and discounts available.

There are a few things to be mindful of when looking for coupons to use. Firstly, make sure the code isn’t about to expire. Many times stores offer coupons or checkout codes that are only valid for a certain amount of time, such as for a month or six weeks. You could always search for a few different coupon codes so that you have plenty of options available when checking out your NutriSystem order.

Another thing to note, when looking for coupons, are any special conditions pertaining to it. For example sometimes the offers are only for first time customers, or they may only be used with a specific credit card or by people from a certain location only. Usually these options are clearly stated, so be sure to read the small print and any terms or conditions for use when you plan on using them.

I recently saw this question posed on a weight loss forum. If you look on the company’s website, you’ll see that the company recommends that this is the minimum amount of time that you should give yourself until you start seeing results. But, what about those people who say that they’ve lost a lot of weight after only a week? Are they lying or embellishing their results? Not necessarily, but it can make sense to give yourself this buffer. I will discuss this more in the following article.

What Comes In The Medifast Two Weeks Package? How Much Does It Cost?: I’m going to quickly go over the basics of this package. You are given 70 meals and you are basically given a sampling of some of the foods that you would likely eat the most of. For example, you’re given 21 shakes, 21 bars, 14 oatmeals, 7 soups, and 7 puddings. Keep in mind that you will be asked to make one healthful meal on your own to eat each day. For the rest of the time, you will eat five of the company’s meals. If you do this for 14 days or two weeks, you will deplete these 70 meals. The cost of this package is $154.54, which is about $2.20 per meal.

Can You Lose Weight Or See Results After Eating Medifast For Only Two Weeks?: I have both seen and had this happen. But, let’s look at this from a scientific standpoint. So long as you follow the instructions, you’re going to be consuming just over 1000 calories per day. It’s perceived that most women (who aren’t dieting) consume over 1800 calories per day. So, if this is your reality, you’ve going to saving around 5600 calories per week or 11,200 calories over the course of those two weeks. Generally speaking, 3500 calories equal a pound. So at this rate, you’d lose a little over 3 pounds, if there are no other variables. (If you move more, obviously you can expect better results.)

But, this is not the only consideration. Medifast is not only about the calories in versus calories out. It’s also about lowering your carbohydrate intake and bumping up your protein. The foods are specifically designed for this. They are all technically low carb foods but are also high in protein. So, you have this working in your favor through a metabolic state called ketosis that takes around 3 days for most people. In this state, your body burns fat rapidly. (It would usually burn your carbs but now it can’t.)

So, you are basically coming at this from two instead of one angles. For many people, this gives them better results than they have had by only trying to cut calories or trying to cut carbs. You will be up and running with the calorie angle after only the first day. And, by day 4, hopefully, the ketosis angle will be in full swing also. This gives you an additional 13 days before your package has run out.

Of course, results are going to vary depending on the person and depending on how stringent you are with what you chose with the meal that you make yourself. (This is called “the lean and green meal.”) But, it is not at all unusual to lose a decent amount of weight after only two weeks on medifast, at least in my opinion. In fact, I’d suspect that you have been not following the directions or were not able to get into ketosis, (or both), if you were not having decent results after 14 days.

Dieting - The Pluses and Minuses

Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on June 27th, 2010

Most of the pros and cons to dieting are are easy to see. If you do it right dieting can always be healthy and successful. Most of the cons of dieting come from bad diets. Regardless of what kind of weight problem you have, you can lose 2 pounds a week eating three meals a day and exercising at least one hour a day.

Are you overweight but also exercise every day? Does it puzzle you? Perhaps you run like an hour a day, but you can’t get your body weight down to your target goal. Are, you eat really healthy? Perhaps you only eat a whole grains, very lean meats, and raw fruits and vegetables, but for some reason you also can’t reach your target weight. In the first scenario you very likely are not eating in a healthy way. And in the second scenario you likely are not exercising at least one hour a day. You need to have both exercise and healthy eating is a part of your weight loss plan. In this sense, it’s hard to talk about the pros and cons of dieting.

Proper balance is the key to effective weight loss. Too much on the eating side and not enough on the exercising side won’t get you any results. And in the same way too much on the exercise side but not enough on the eating side will likewise not to do what you’re looking for.

A lot of people fail at dieting because they wrongly believe that they can lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time. There are some unhealthy diets out there promoted by celebrities or slick marketers. Don’t believe this hype. If someone says you can lose a lot of weight in just a few days, you may be able to but you can’t sustain that. When someone loses a lot of weight like that it is usually just water weight. So you may lose 10 pounds one week but it’s impossible to do the same thing the next week. When a follower of this crazy diet doesn’t succeed, they give up as a failure and then go on a binge eating weekend.

A successful weight loss plan begins with a goal that you can easily achieve over a long-term period. Therefore, if you want to lose 50 pounds do not try to do it in two months. You may shoot up like a meteor and lose the weight in two months, but you’ll definitely spiral back down and put all the weight back on. It’s just human psychology. You will think that it since you can lose so much weight in such a short amount of time, but now it doesn’t matter what you eat. It’s almost guaranteed you’ll just put the weight back on. A way to achieve long-lasting weight loss is to first define how many pounds you want to lose and then divide it by 52. Regardless of how much weight you want to lose make it a year-long plan. By taking a year to lose the weight that you want to you will be developing a lifestyle of daily eating and exercise. Once the weight you want to lose comes off in a year, you can increase the amount you eat by a little bit or decrease the amount of exercise by a little bit, and it maintained a consistent weight and definitely for the rest of your life.

You can avoid the cons of dieting and enjoy the positive aspects of it by simply following a good diet. Follow the advice in this article in the void trying to do any crazy diet is unhealthy.

We’ve all tried jogging and eating less to lose weight, but from experience I can tell you that it just takes too much time to see any kind of real results. There is a technique that is fairly new called high intensity interval training that actually exploits a little known function of the body. This function is triggered during the body’s own natural muscle repair process.

When we exercise, our bodies are always building some amount of muscle. Tiny, microscopic tears form in the muscle tissue and the body must repair these tears in order for them to function properly. This is a natural process, but soreness occurs because of the lactic acid byproduct that the body leaves behind after the repair. This is harmless and temporary, but the dull pain that we feel the next day after exercising can often cause many newbie joggers to give up right away.

What a lot of people don’t understand is that the body is burning calories during this process of repairing it’s muscles in addition to the calories it burns during the exercise that is performed. The higher the intensity of the workout, the more temporary damage to the muscles will occur and the more work your body will have to do to complete the repairs. In some cases, the body burns more energy in the hours that follow a workout than the actual workout! This is the core concept of the high intensity interval training technique, and it has been proven to burn massive amounts of fat in a very short amount of time just from exploiting this bodily function.

Carb Rotation Diet Review - Lose 15 Pounds in 30 Days

AnIf you’re someone who has been trying to lose weight for a long time but you keep jumping from diet to diet without reaching your goal weight then you are what is known as a “serial dieter.”

It’s likely that a principle reason you have not been able to stick with those diets in order to reach your goal weight is that they have restricted your calories too much to the point where your body goes into “starvation mode” which slows down your metabolism and makes it very difficult to burn off fat (and very difficult to stick with the diet.)

The Carb Rotation Diet is a different kind of approach that can help you to stop the serial dieting cycle so that you can finally reach your goal weight and keep that weight off for good (this means real permanent weight loss.)

The Carb Rotation Diet can help you to safely lose 15 pounds in just 30 days. If that sounds too good to be true then you should consider some of the amazing results that people have on The Biggest Loser TV show. It’s obvious that large amounts of weight can be lost in a short amount of time with the right approach.

With this diet you will not be counting calories or carbs (no, it’s not a low carb diet) and you won’t be using dangerous diet pills (you should always avoid using diet pills.) Instead you will be getting access to a system that really works for burning fat fast. A system created by a real dietician named Jayson Hunter.

My Medifast Weight Loss Program Review

Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on September 02nd, 2009

I get a lot of questions from folks who are considering the Medifast weight loss program and are trying to do some research to see if this program would be a good fit for them. They have very specific questions to which they want the definitive answers. They want to know what their experiences will be like. They wonder If their lives will change very much. They want to be sure that they are going to get to eat at least some decent tasting foods so that they aren’t constantly hungry or irritable. And, they want to make sure that this program is actually going to work for them so that they aren’t wasting their money or their time. I’ll share my experiences on this program in the following article and give you my somewhat biased review of it.

Medifast Food Choices, Taste, Texture, And Everything Else: If there was one thing that I really wanted to know about this program, it was the food. After all, you’ll have to live with these foods for a decent amount of time since you are eating five of the meals per day. Overall, most of the foods are pretty acceptable tasting. You have a decent amount of variety, with over 70 food choices. The shakes especially are good without any chalky texture. (There are also some different health options. For example, there is a diabetic program, a heart health option, a joint heath plan, and a metabolism boosting package. However, I find that most people just go with the basic women’s program.)

No matter which plan you chose, you’re asked to eat six small meals each day. This sounds like a lot, but the meals are pretty small and because they come mostly ready to eat, this isn’t too difficult to achieve and it does help to keep you from getting as hungry as you may fear. Of course, this does take a bit of an adjustment period for most people who are only used to eating your typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It probably took me about a week before I stopped worrying about when I was going to eat or how I was going to fit it in. It just became a habit somewhat quickly and I learned to chose and then assemble my meals ahead of time so that all I really had to do was heat them up or blend them as needed and then eat them.

Now, you are asked to make a decent sized healthful meal each day (called the “lean and green meal.”) This is because they want you to get fresh foods and because they also want you to learn how to plan for and prepare healthy meals since you probably won’t be on the diet forever. They are pretty good about providing clear guidelines, but when it comes to actually cooking this meal, you’re on your own. However, this is really just lean protein and three veggies and there are many quick ways that you can achieve this. If you like to cook though, you can make this more elaborate.

Does The Medifast Program Really Work How Quickly Does The Weight Come Off : I was pleasantly surprised at my results. It’s been a rare occurrence that I haven’t lost at least some weight. For the most part, I’ve averaged well over 5 pounds per week, at least in the beginning. Lately, I’ve stabilized to around 2 -3 pounds each week, but the percentage is probably the same as I become smaller and smaller. I believe that there are a few reasons why this program is so effective.

First, since you are eating so often, you’re less likely to cheat or become so hungry so that you’ll need to over eat. Second, this diet is a high protein one. This forces your body to burn it’s own fat which will often give you pretty quick results. Finally, they teach you to make sound choices via the “lean and green meal.” This will serve you well as you begin to transition to regular eating again.

Is Medifast Expensive Is It A Good Value : Over time, I’ve come to believe that this diet really is pretty inexpensive. You basically get enough food to eat five times per day for a whole month at the base price of $300. This is good, but the company regularly offers discounts, coupons and specials that can get this down to around $8 per day - sometimes less when you get free food as well. I really could not do any better than this if I had to buy groceries. And, I’ve tried diets in the past where I purchased and made my own diet foods. They were not as successful because I was not able to put myself in ketosis. I’ve tested this theory several times using ketone strips and Medifast always wins in terms of convenience, results, and cost effectiveness.
