Ways to Boost Your Metabolism on Medifast

I recently received a comment on my blog in which the reader asked for advice or tips on how “to boost my metabolism on Medifast so that I will lose weight quickly.” I had to respond that I actually believe that you don’t need to make this diet harder than it really is. What I mean by this is that it’s designed to work without your needing to over think it. With that said, there were some tips that I could offer for keeping your metabolism humming along. I will explain this more in the following article.
The Medifast Diet Already Does Rev Your Metabolism: Here’s the thing. This diet is designed to speed, rev, or enhance your metabolism because it puts your body in a state called ketosis. What this means is that because you’re eating more protein and fiber and are sort of depriving yourself of the amounts of calories and carbs that you are used to, your body begins to feast on fat. This greatly speeds up what might have happened eventually, but on a much smaller scale.
Now, they don’t require a whole lot from you to make sure that you get in ketosis. What you need to do is basically just to eat all of your meals (six in total,) use low glycemic foods in your main “lean and green” dish, and to keep any cheating that you do focused on salts and fats rather than on sweets. In short, you don’t want to do anything that would impede you from getting in ketosis and staying there.
People are sometimes tempted to skip meals thinking that they are saving carbs and calories. What they don’t understand is that your body needs support and fuel to get through ketosis. By depriving yourself of fuel, you’re only risking this whole process. If your body can’t support this process, it simply get won’t get in it. And, if you aren’t in ketosis, it will be much harder to boost your metabolism.
There’s often a lot of discussion and controversy on the weight loss forums as to whether you should exercise on medifast or whether it’s advisable to work out if you are in ketosis. I’m certainly no medical expert, but I usually chose the happy medium or the compromise in this situation. I don’t over do it. But, I do focus on moving more and on making what I am already going to do burn more calories. I move faster when I clean and do my chores. I wear weighted shoes when I power walk. I might use ankle weights when I’m moving about around the house.
But, I certainly don’t over extend myself or do anything that would tax my body as it is going through this process. It’s probably not a good idea to anything in excess, so I try not to. As I said, there is really no need to over think this. I know for a fact that skipping meals will take you out of ketosis. I’ve used ketone strips to prove this.
You’re given very easy to follow and specific instructions when you order the food. So long as you follow along relatively closely, your metabolism will be revved without your needing to do much else. If you want to do extra, you can gently work out. Any thing that burns a few extra calories can certainly help, but you don’t want to make your body do too much work that it can’t support what is happening.
Medifast Does Have Specific Products (The Momentum Line) To Boost Your Metabolism: If you still have doubts, there are products that are meant to take care of this job. Medifast has a line called “momentum” that contains some caffeine and some of the stimulants in green tea to do this. You can order an entire package of these foods or you can just order some of them. Personally, I do order the latte and the banana shakes individually because I like the way that they taste. But, I was losing weight at a very nice clip before I started doing this and I think the regular package more than does the job.
So, the products are there if this is something that you are interested in and these products are just as tasty as the others. But, I hope this articles has shown you that all of these products are designed to put your in ketosis and to bump up your metabolism.
