Relapse During Candida Diet?

Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on June 22nd, 2010

It happened to a couple of friends of mine, while being on a Candida free diet. After some time, after the treatment began, they experienced a die-off reaction, also know as Herxheimer Reaction. So, let’s see and try to understand what went wrong.

A die off reaction is usually cause by dead Candida yeast, whose corpse a polluting your body. Even dead Candida remains toxic for your body. Some alternative healers would say that a dead yeast is even more toxic for the body that a live one. Let’s try to understand how this can be possible. While suffering from a Candida infection your body suffers from the toxins that are mostly waist eliminated by the yeast during its life necessities. When the parasite dies, all the poison accumulated in its body is thrown away at once. If you follow me here, you already understood that a die off reaction is actually a good sign, a sign that your diet is working.

The Herxheimer Reaction’s symptoms are very similar to Candida symptoms and that is the very reason, why it looks like your symptoms are getting worse. The symptoms are getting worse, that is correct, but the treatment is going right. As the program comes to an end, episodes of die-off reactions become fewer and fewer, disappearing once the Candida is out. In case you experience Herxheimer reaction, just slow down your dietary changes, or move back one step. A good cleansing program would be just perfect: enema for detoxification, various yeast free foods, etc.
