The Secret French Diet

In France, the home of? croissants, cheese and chocolate just 11 percent of the people have weight issue problems. Meanwhile in the United States, 68 percent people have weight issue problems. So what’s this “Secret French Diet” and just how do the French stay so thin?

Part of this is down to two very different attitudes. In America, people look at food as bad and guilty, in France on the other hand, people love food and enjoy it; food is pleasure.

Therefor French women quite simply do not believe in diets. American women tend to always be on a diet whether it’s Atkins or Slim Fast or South Beach, but for French girls and women, nothing whatsoever is off-limits.

If they want a piece of chocolate or pizza or some ice cream or pastry, they have it but in small portions. They’re not concerned with calories. Once you have to start counting calories, it takes away from the joy and pleasure of eating. By just taking 20 minutes out to enjoy their lunch, this a simple pleasure enjoyed throughout France.

So French women do not live by the scale. They are not obsessed like many American women, they don’t go on the scale every morning. If you’ve overeaten, your pants are going to be tight, that’s it - Period!

The French attitude to exercise is also very different from Americans. Gyms are a “No-no”. They prefer to walk everywhere. In France they have a saying, joie de vivre, which means looking at your life as something that is to be taken with great pleasure and to be enjoyed.

The secret though is that the French drink red wine almost daily. Home to some of the largest centenarian populations in the world, the Fren consume very high concentrations of Resveratrol which is a polyphenol,? a fungi which grows naturally in organically farmed wine, to help protect the plant from dangerous bacteria.

When consumed daily however, medical journals confirm that Resveratrol acts as an artery scrubber, slowly cleaning your arteries of the toxins which layer them, essentially cleaning them and helping your heart function more effectively, stronger and longer.

Resveratrol is also attributed to weight loss. This anti-oxidant helps trigger your SiRT1 gene which activates a fight response within your cells breaking down stored fat reserves which helps increase energy levels.

The secret to the French diet and their longevity is a combination of all three of these factors: attitude, exercise and resveratrol. If you can make time to shape one or all three of these factors into your daily lifestyle, then slimming and longevity will are more than achievable.
