3 Day Diet - A Weight Loss Or Water Loss Plan?

The 3-day diet weight-loss plan holds the theory that when a person eats a particular combination of foods, a chemical reaction occurs in the digestive system, revving up the metabolism and stimulating the body to burn fat at an accelerated speed than normal. Its followers are recommended to stay on the diet for three days with a break of 2 days before proceeding to its repetition.

Most of its followers complained of low energy level. Fundamentally, this type of weight-loss plan has a diuretic effect on the body, resulting to water weight loss instead of fat loss. Whenever the person returns to normal eating, his weight is gained back. The theory mentioned above does not hold any scientific basis to support it.

For its advocates, the information below can be helpful. Before anything more, drinking of 4 glasses of water or diet soda per day is recommended, and so is the use of herbs, pepper, salt, lemon, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, ketchup and mustard.

For its Day 1, having black coffee or tea can make the person awake and going. One slice of toast with a tablespoon of peanut butter along with a 4-ounce grapefruit juice or ? grapefruit will complete the meal. Lunch consists of ? cup tuna or chicken with a slice of toast and black coffee or tea. Before going to bed, dinner is served with 3 ounces of beef or chicken, 1 cup each of green beans and carrots, 1 apple and 4 ounces of vanilla ice cream.

For Day 2, breakfast consists of one egg whether scrambled or boiled, ? banana, a slice of toast with a cup of black coffee or tea. At lunchtime, there could not be a better meal than having 1 cup of low fat cottage cheese or 1 cup of plain low fat yogurt, or tuna and 8 saltine crackers. Dinner is sumptuous with two beef frankfurters, a cup of broccoli or cabbage, half cup of carrots and vanilla ice cream and half of banana.

Finally, for Day 3, start the day with an apple, 5 saltine crackers, an ounce of cheddar cheese with a cup of black coffee or tea. Lunch is served with one boiled egg, a slice of toast with black coffee or tea. For dinner, one cup each of tuna or chicken, cauliflower, carrots and melon with half of a cup of vanilla ice cream.
