7-Day Diet - Not Very Balanced and Can Lead to Weakness and Fatigue
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on June 11th, 2009
Your life can change in just 7 days…
Okay, that probably sounds like a TV advertisement. But truly, the 7-day diet could be the life-turning method you have been looking for.
This method is the all-you-can-eat diet. It assigns certain foods a person can indulge on particular days. Nevertheless, this system of weight loss can lead to initial loss of considerable amounts of extra pounds. It gives a person a head start in dieting.
Advantages
- It leads to weight loss since it only involves fruits and vegetables on its menu.
- It guarantees immediate weight loss and is good for people who need immediate solutions to their bulging waistlines.
- The method is free, so to speak. Expenses go directly to the very basic foods.
Disadvantages
- It is a very strict plan that follows pre-determined sets of food for one whole week.
- It is not a sustainable diet as it creates deficits on important nutrients and calories needed by the body to function normally throughout the day. It is, long story short, a very unbalanced diet.
- It is a fad diet; this alone raises the flag for people who opt for healthy and well-balanced diets as opposed to those methods that use drastic measures.
- Daily caloric intake is, on the average, lesser than normal.
- Participants of this method claim that they lost anywhere from 5 to 14 pounds after 7 days, which is a good thing for some people. However, dropping this number of pounds quickly may prove unhealthy for the long haul as it leads to the collapse of some systems in the body. Also, through methods like this, reverting weight is often a threat.
Verdict
If examined from a day-to-day basis, this method is not a very balanced one. However, when viewed from the larger picture, it is a somewhat balanced diet. Nevertheless, it is only recommended to be performed for only one week.
Coconut Diet - Levels Up Energy While Lowering Weight!
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on June 11th, 2009
Not all fats are created equal. There are fats that are marketed as healthy and beneficial, when in fact they bring about disastrous effects to the body. There are also those that are healthy down to the core. Belonging in the second category is the coconut oil and its varieties.
Due to the very well-documented properties and benefits of coconut oil, people who are trying to lose weight have made it into something helpful in lessening fat mass in the body. In fact, they have created a type of diet, for it that maximizes the full benefits of what they call “the coconut diet”.
Apart from this, the coconut diet can also shoot up energy levels in the body. The composition of this fat is such that it is immediately transformed into an energy source a few minutes after ingestion. So unlike all other types of fats, this does not stay long in the body and cause weight-related problems. Instead, it provides a very good source of energy that can sustain the body’s functions.
The coconut diet should not be seen as the typical diet, though. This diet primarily uses coconut virgin oil as its main weight loss agent. Dubbed as the healthiest fat, this method of losing pounds picks up where most other diets fail–using oil to counter the piling up of fat pockets in the body. Ironic but true.
Further, this diet does not prescribe any specific types of foods, proportions of foods, or manners by which foods should be consumed along with the oil. It also does not involve very strict rules and routines to follow to make the diet a success. Instead, it only recommends that coconut oil be consumed in regular amounts each day as regular dietary oil, much like how people in the tropics use this oil to optimize their health and prevent unwarranted weight gain. Nothing more, nothing less. No products. No sophisticated ways to use the oil. No innovative exercise machines…just the use of the oil in combination with a regular diet.
Jenny Craig Diet - Why is it Famous and Why Do Celebrities Promote It?
Posted by fitnessguru in Prescription Diet Drugs on June 11th, 2009
Jenny Craig Diet is one of those diets whose claim to fame are innovative methods that worked well for celebrities. With the publicity that this diet gets, it is not hard to miss.
So what is the fuss around Jenny Craig Diet?
Apart from its heavy endorsements by the likes of Queen Latifah, there are other qualities to this method that many people find intriguing.
First off, it uses professional counseling. Counseling is often a good idea when it comes to trimming the body’s fat. This provides proper guidance, direction, and information that are otherwise inaccessible to average dieters. Counseling also acts like a motivating factor and a support system for most people who undergo the diet program.
Second, this diet makes use of carefully selected and carefully measured foods. Though many people cringe at the fact that foods for this diet are bought from Jenny Craig offices and centers, there are also those who find this very convenient. These are usually those who have sufficient money to spare. These foods are already prepared to fit the exact caloric needs of a person. These are also well-balanced.
Third, it is a tailored type of method. Through systematic evaluations of a person’s health and body status, the counselors and program developers of this weight loss method can pinpoint exactly what a particular participant requires.
Fourth, it gives emphasis on the importance of physical activity in the success of a weight loss plan. It leaves no room for second-guessing for participants since the diet itself provides pointers on how to use appropriate physical activities.
With these points laid, it is easy to comprehend why this is a fairly popular opt-in solution to losing weight. Overall, this weight loss program is comprehensive; it brings to the table issues that should be addressed by all other types of diets. Nonetheless, many complaints, mostly demonstrating dissatisfaction, have been heard about the Jenny Craig diet.
